Four years away from the coast

Emerald Isle Beach
It is hard to believe that when Janauary rolls around, we will have four years between us and the fifteen years we spent with our toes in the sand. As is often the case, there is a time and place for the different stages of life.  When we arrived on the coast, I was fifty-seven years old.  When we left, I had flipped over into the seventies.

As my wife was fond of saying, you are too old to out in a two-mile wide river in a kayak. Before those words are even cold, she says you also do not need to offshore in the ocean in a twenty-foot skiff.

I hate to admit it, but she is probably right. Even a four mile beach walk might be a little taxing, The good news is that I have a lot of great photos like this one of sunset at the Cedar Access to the Croatan National Park.
